Project Title:Next generation of remote & robot-to-robot teaching
Description
The goal of Wandelbots within the TOAST project is to build the next generation of remote teaching and robot-to-robot learning solution for robot-arms based on ultra-low-latency Tactile Internet. As a machine learning specialist you will work on our algorithms to perceive the environment and bridging the gap between the real environment with that of the digital twin. To allow a seamless transition from offline to online programming, sensor devices need to be attached temporarily to the robot during teaching. As an IT specialist, you contribute to a network-aware software for robot-controlling applications which shall leverage the ultra-low latency provided by programmable networks and network slicing. The expected results of high-performance remote teaching and control of robot-arms will form the basis of new features of the Wandelbots robotic software platform. Thereby you will exchange ideas with European researchers in the PhD network and continue your own education. Within our agile software development process, you will directly work with a cross-functional team centred around a specific customer application like welding or grinding.
